Bristol-based quartet We Are Leif’s soul and jazz draws on a rich expanse of influences.
Their material is inspired by the trip-hop of their home city, and the likes of Massive Attack or Lamb, as well as jazz luminary Gretchen Parlato and the sounds of R&B soul icon Erykah Badu.
Formed by four established jazz musicians, We Are Leif use their talents to infuse their atmospheric jazz arrangements with neo-soul grooves and down-tempo trip-hop sensibilities. Singer Louise Victoria, who writes the band’s material alongside drummer Mark Whitlam, also performs under her mythical alt-pop alias Elvish.
