Inheriting the mantel of New Orleans’ Official Music Ambassador from Louis Armstrong, BIJ & BF patron Lillian Boutté will bring her glorious New Orleans’ Gospel Project to this year’s festival. Drawing on the energy, passion and excitement generated in Sanctified churches across the American south, Lillian’s dynamic stage presence will no doubt deliver an unforgettable afternoon of joyous music.

Jazz legend, Chris Barber, will accompany Lillian for this very special concert. A pioneer of the UK jazz and scene, trombonist Chris was at the forefront of the trad boom in the 50s. The tours he promoted with the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Big Bill Broonzy and Muddy Waters provided the spark that set off the “British invasion” of the 60s.
