There’s something magical about swing. Its toe tapping, floor filling beats sparked a musical revolution a century ago, introducing jazz to the world through big band leaders like Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.

Swing has always been a big feature of Bristol Jazz & Blues Festival and now we’re bringing a special interactive workshop to primary schools to inspire the next generation of dancers and musicians. Working with members of our house band, children will explore the components of swing by mixing up a musical cake to find out what makes swing, swing!
